AVAILABLE 08-28-14 Beefcake is an 18 month old who was brought to the Shelter when the owner could no longer care for him. He's such a handsome boy with his shiny chocolate fur and muscular physique. His pictures really don't do him justice - you have to see him in person to appreciate his good looks. But he's not just good looking, he's a friendly guy who does well on a leash and is dog friendly. Beefcake tested negative for heart worms, so is now on preventative, his shots are now up to date and he's been neutered. He's housetrained which is always a plus. Beefcake enjoys chew toys, taking walks and napping. This handsome guy would love to become part of your family, so come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and ask to meet Beefcake. He wore the tutu to support our SPCA dance team in a local competition to earn money for the Shelter - besides he wanted to show that real men do wear tutu's. SPCA of NENC will adopt to approved applicants either North Carolina residents or non-residents. To adopt, please bring your current ID. If you rent, please bring the rental agreement that shows the pet clause and proof that the deposit was paid, or a letter from your landlord that you are allowed to have a pet. If you have other pets in your home, you MUST bring proof that they are up to date on their shots (Bordatella, Distemper/Parvo, and Rabies).It also helps if you bring your pet (dog) with you to see if he/she is compatible with the pet you are looking to adopt. Our adoption fees are as follows: Dogs - $85 Cats - $50 Adoption fees cover their first round of shots, not including Rabies, first month of flea and tick prevention and their first month of heartworm preventative (dogs). .PASQUOTANK COUNTY RESIDENTS: If you are adopting a dog and live outside Elizabeth City limits, you MUST purchase either a County dog license or a kennel tag (3 or more dogs) at time of adoption. Cost for a County Dog License is $10 per dog or a Kennel Tag is $20 for more than 3 dogs. Dog licenses are good for the life of your dog. Kennel Tags must be renewed each year (April) for $20. These can only be purchased from the SPCA. SPCA of NENC is located at 100 Wilson Street in Elizabeth City, NC.
